Elliza ‘Ellie’ Carroll Lowe was born at 10:31am on September 6th, 2011. She was 9 days over-due, but worth all the waiting. My water broke at home around 2:45am. And I was only in labor for about 7 hours. Everything went wonderful. It was everything that I could of ever hoped for. My mom and Thomas were in the delievery room with me. I would’ve been so lost without my mom. My life has been so hectic since Ellie has arrived, but it’s worth it. I’m nursing, so it’s really draining. I have no energy. I was in the hospital when Ellie was exactly 2 weeks old with phneumonia. I was discharged 2 days ago. Everything is getting better with that, thank goodness. I’m a little discouraged about nursing. I feel like my body isn’t making what it should be. So, I’ve thought about maybe supplementing with one formula bottle a day. It makes me really sad, but Ellie is not back to her birth weight yet. I’m really run down and nursing takes so much out of me. So, I’m pumping exclusivly now. Hopefully once my body starts to go back to its old self my milk supply will pick up. But this is pretty much a small run-down of my life in the past 2 months. Nothing interesting besides little Ellie finally arriving! But I’ve decided to turn this blog into a blog about motherhood and documenting Ellie as she grows.
So, I’m Hannah Lowe. I am 17 years old and I am the mother to a 18 day old beautiful little girl. Welcome to my, our, life.
